The Life of Marc Santi

Marc Santi was born on October 31st 1982 in Richmond Hill Ontario. He was the middle child to Ed and Leda Santi and middle brother to Paul and David. Throughout his entire life Marc always maintained an easy going and cheerful disposition. His greatest trait, however, was his continual desire to assist those around him. As a young boy he was an altar server at Our Lady Queen of the World Parish in Richmond Hill. On many occasions he would go beyond the duty of an altar server and assist the parish staff with planting flowers, cutting grass, and shoveling snow. The fact that he volunteered his time is not what was most impressive, but it was Marc’s way of going about these generous acts that those around him realized. You could tell just by his demeanor and spirit that he truly loved assisting others.
This selflessness carried on into Marc’s teenage years, where he attended St. Michaels College School in Toronto. While at St. Mike’s Marc became very involved within the school community outside of the classroom. He was a 5 year member of the Kerry Blues football program, where as a senior he did not play much, but seldom missed a practice and was a team captain. Marc was also president of the Student government in his senior year, where he would organize numerous events but more importantly he would willingly assist younger students to make them feel apart of the St. Mike’s community. He would regularly volunteer at Out of the Cold, a program that assists Toronto’s homeless. He also organized many food drives to assist the less fortunate. At Marc’s funeral Father Frank Hannan summarized Marc’s life as follows…..

“ young and old can learn from Marc’s life. Just take one thing, although there were many and try to follow his example. Marc was an altar boy for eight years and there is no need to embellish this young man’s life or character, the bare facts of his outstanding short life are a testimony to a truly great person.”

“Marc was an easy going, laid back person who took life one day at a time, appreciating all the blessings and privileges that were given to him. With an unforgettable smile and charm, Marc Santi touched peoples lives in a way that will never be forgotten. I thank Marc for all of the endless memories and good times we shared.”
